Chapter 45: Epilogue

Dale Torborg appeared in September 16, 2000 episode of WCW Worldwide in which he answered a fan question about his Kiss fandom. Dale, without the gear and standing next to Asya, explains that he is a huge Kiss fan since he heard the Destroyer album when he was 5 years old and that to be the Kiss Demon is a dream come true and an honor. He goes on about how he used to dress up as Gene Simmons on Halloween and that he saw the Reunion tour multiple times with Asya.

Dale was also featured in VH1's show called Fandom that shed light on some Kiss fans in a December 2000 episode

He is a hardcore fan to this day and even attended one of the Kiss Kruises with his wife, as a fan. He was also a guest on various expos, including a Kiss Expo in 2001

Despite the fact that he knew that The Demon character will be buried by the execs and new writers, he still wanted to do it because he was a fan, and was thrilled to be a Kiss wrestler, and he really did do as much as he could with it. There's only so much you could do when you get defeated after a minute of a fight or you lose all the time, yet The Demon managed to be a memorable character and Dale did well.

For me, The Demon character was always just fascinating. It wasn't that I was a fan of him because I was a Kiss fan, I didn't know Kiss yet, I found them through The Demon (See Chapters 1-5). It was The Demon that drew me, his makeup design, of course Gene Simmons', but with the costume, the sarcophagus, even the cape had a great design, loved those plates in the back and spiked armpads that matched the sarcophagus look. The whole idea of the sarcophagus is fantastic

And now, looking back at his whole WCW history, the evolution of the character is just as fascinating. From a character that cost nearly well over half a Million dollars, who was to be the center of everything, with an established name and a giant behind him, to a new name and a leaner guy who took over the character  after only 2, or arguably 3 appearances, and who was relegated to the lowest class of WCW with unbelievable losing streak and silly skits. Dale as The Demon managed to slowly rise up from the show with debutees straight from a training camp to having feuds on the main Nitro show to having big storylines with his Vampiro feud, eventually playing along with the big boys such as Sting.

This site will be updated periodically with new information if I'll stumble upon some. Hope you enjoyed my chronological look at the evolution of the WCW Demon character

And here are pages from an issue of Wrestling World from June 2001. Its got a great interview and spotlight on Dale’s The Demon and even features him on the cover. Not sure when the published interview was actually conducted, but it’s really good and goes deeper into Dale’s approach to the character and how mich of a lifelong Kiss diehard fan he is
