Chapter 30: Dale Searches for Asya - June 21, 2000

The plot continues on WCW Thunder, June 21. The Demon, or rather Dale Torborg, looks around the parking lot for any clues to Asya's whereabouts, and suddenly finds the hearse that Vampiro drove away with last time. He opens the back and finds Asya's earring

He runs back to the building. Vampiro makes his way into the stage and way before he gets into the ring, Dale runs in and attacks him. He throws him into the ring and beats him demanding to know where is Asya. Vampiro is swinging Asya's other earring in front of him, telling Dale that if he wants to ever see her again, he has to behave and listen to him. Dale's tormented.

Vampiro: You wanna see your girlfriend again? Cause if anything ever happens to me, no one, nobody in this whole world but me, knows where she is.

You see Dale, Demon, I like you. You're sick. You're a twisted freak  just like me. You've got the sickness. But the big difference between me and you is that I can't just turn this off. Every stinkin' subhuman day of my life, I'm sick inside. I can't take this makeup off, or get away from the pain that makes me do the things that I so like to do. That's why I took her away from you, you sick twisted freak. You gotta listen to the voices in your head Dale! You gotta embrace The Demon!

Torborg: Where is she??!!

Vampiro: You can't run away

He finally tells Dale that for the next few days he has to do what he says or nobody will ever find out where Asya is. Dale is taking it hard but has no choice.

Tony Shiavone: Imagine the pain of Dale Torborg - your fiance is missing, and you know she's in the clutches of a man who is demented

Mike Tenay: First we've seen Vampiro ruin Sting's life, putting him in hospital burnward without an ounce of remorse and now we see that he's messing with Dale Torborg, both mentally and physically using his fiance Asya

Shiavone: This is sick, this is sick

Bobby the Brain Heenan: Very sick and he's a very sick man

They both exit the arena and Vampiro gives Dale the keys to the hearse and orders him to drive, refusing to tell him where they're going

Much later we are told that the producers are following them and we see a live feed of them arriving at a remote location someplace

Vampiro points at a coffin in a grave telling him that Asya's over there and Dale jumps right in there, only to find that the coffin is empty. He then gets smacked unconscious with a shovel by Vampiro, who brings tied Asya to him and tells her that he'll be waiting for The Demon and leaves.

I found this movie-like storyline fairly interesting for a change. Still, while WCW felt like a big blockbuster movie in late 90's, now it was feeling like cheap theater, perhaps budget cuts, perhaps the new management, but the story was still interesting enough to pull few of my buddies in
