The Demon's next payperview event in which he participated was WCW Uncensored, and that was the culmination of the feud and final battle with cartoon characters Lenny and Idol. The Demon of course got paired up with Norman Smiley as they suddenly became a tag team group. For me, seeing The Demon becoming just a part of a tag team was even a greater disappointment than every ridiculous thing that has been done to him, including him befriending Norman Smiley. I never liked tag teams, for me it lessens the individual and limits what they can do.
While having The Demon be a part of a tag team group, it was at the time for me infuriating to see him pair up with comedic character of Smiley. Obviously it was played for laughs and for a comedic contrast, but for me such comedy not only didn't work but whatever supposed, planned comedy might be there that actually made people laugh, it was hugely at the expense of The Demon character.
And to add to the insult, they had Smiley have the makeup on and a cheap shirt with an iron on. He looked absolutely ridiculous and it was the biggest facepalm in the career of the Demon. For me the comedic skit with Smiley was degrading, ridiculing and mocking the character
And those "opponents", straight from a comedy movie
While having a match on payperview may sound important, it was actually just a second fight in the event. Smiley came out of the sarcophagus while The Demon came out of the main entrance.
Usually the way those matches go is that one guy starts out, then gets beaten for a long time and finally tags the other guy who comes into the ring and cleans the house. Well, guess which one was which.
While Lenny and The Demon were busy fighting outside the ring and thus distracting Idol, Smiley takes advantage of the situation and attacks Idol winning the match and doing his chicken dance. At least that was over with
